The fall is my favorite time of year. The weather has cooled off, the days are getting shorter, and it’s a fantastic time to curl up with hot tea and some knitting. It’s also a fantastic time for sheep and wool festivals! This year I was trilled to participate in the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival as well as the Portland Lace Society’s Lace Day.
Now that the rush to get prepared for shows has passed, I’ve got a whole bunch of new prints hitting the website. These cute little bears are just one of several prints which I am sure you will all love.
While I am working on some new patterns and product development ideas, I am retiring the crochet case. These cases are great for all kinds of things other than crochet hooks. I use one for makeup brushes and another for pens and pencils. Check out the new clearance section for some great deals on these cases as well as old prints. Don’t forget that domestic orders all ship for free on the web!
Those of you who follow my Etsy shop will notice that prices have gone up a bit. This is in response to Etsy’s increased fees and rising materials costs. I will keep prices on follyandnonsense.com at the old levels until the first of the year, so be sure to shop there first as you look for holiday gift ideas!
I am thrilled to be attending the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival in Canby, Oregon this fall! I’ll be set up outside and will have new cases and new patterns to show off! Be sure to stop by and say hello!
It’s been a year since we relocated to the Pacific Northwest! I’m slowly getting a new show calendar established. We were at the Abernethy Spring Fiber Sale again this year in Oregon City, just a few minutes south of Portland. This summer I expect to be at the Black Sheep Gathering again as well, this time in it’s new location in Linn County. Hopefully I will be able to add at least two more Fall shows as well!
I’ve also been busy designing new knitting patterns, keep an eye on the Ravelry shop for Libellula, a beautiful new shawl I designed for Freia Fibers, and Arbor Lace, the scarf features on the homepage. There are more new designs on the way too, I should have at least 3 more new patterns for Black Sheep.
While you are waiting to see me at a show, don’t forget to shop the website! Pattern Buddies and Essentials Cases are fantastic companions for your spring and fall fiber show bag. Keep a copy of the patterns you are shopping for on hand, along with your favorite needles and notions, and you can start knitting as soon as you find that perfect yarn! To make things a little easier, I’ll be offering free shipping on the website for the foreseeable future and for the next month (or until I run out), if you buy any two items on the site, I will send you a free small notions bag! No coupon needed!
